Yiwu is known to be one of the largest export bases for small commodities in China. In 2005, it was called “the world’s largest wholesale market for small commodities” by authorities such as the United Nations, the World Bank and Morgan Stanley. As a result, it attracts importers from all over the world to Yiwu for trade transactions. Yiwu Wholesale Market is the world’s largest trading platform for small commodities. More than 550,000 buyers come to Yiwu every year to purchase small commodity products.
But in the Yiwu market, many Yiwu market suppliers will give different prices depending on the different people. Therefore, it is a skill to deal with Yiwu market suppliers. In this article, we mention three tips. Hopefully, after reading this article, you can have some inspiration.
Choose a Supplier with a Specialist Category
In Yiwu market, some Yiwu market suppliers specialise in one category of products, and some suppliers do various categories of products at the same time. For professional suppliers, their prices tend to be better, the quality of the products will be more guaranteed and the suppliers are more familiar with the products.
And suppliers who deal in more categories often have multiple partner factories. Relatively speaking, suppliers who do various categories are not as good as specialist suppliers who only do one category.

Be Sure to Check Product Quality
One very important point to emphasise to your Yiwu market supplier when purchasing is that the quality of the mass produced must be the same as the quality of the sample. Never assume that if you place an order based on a sample you see on the market, the quality of your product will automatically be the same as the sample.
This is because if you do not do a double check with your supplier, in most cases you will be surprised by what you receive and the product may be of a different material, size, weight or colour etc. to the sample. This is unpleasant.

Need to Have a Method of Price Negotiation
For price negotiations, prices do not vary greatly from quantity to quantity. Generally speaking, quantities of around 1000 pieces can offer a good price. Sometimes the supplier will give you a small discount of around 3-5%.
Some customers think that if they ask the supplier directly if the price for 10,000 pieces will be lower, they will get a lower price of around 10-20%. But this is not the case, because even if this is done, the price will still be the same as 1,000 pieces.
You don’t have to be surprised, because this is normal. Because the supplier doesn’t believe that you will buy 10,000 pieces. They just think that this is a rule for you to ask them for the lowest price. So you shouldn’t be surprised when you hear that the price for 1,000 pieces is almost the same as the price for 10,000 pieces.
