Ask whether you are dealing with a manufacturer, market supplier, trading company, or agent. Who will make or source the goods? Who can approve a production change? Which company signs the contract and receives payment? A trading company can be a good fit for mixed assortments. The problem is not the label. It is losing track of who is responsible when the order goes wrong.
